My catch of the day: Bellissima
I ventured into combining the new Nikon , a Sigma 150/2.8 macro lens, and some bellis/daisies to grab an image worthy of presenting!
I must admit I've never seen this flower up so close so I was pleasantly surprised to see its beautiful structures, the regular but changing pattern and the subtle color-gradient.
Hope you do enjoy this too!

My first attempt with lighting now that I understand what I'm supposed to do :D the storm direction wasn't working well for me but I got one good one. Most was all in the clouds.

This is a training event, not real. I love this picture, the only thing is the focus caught the helmet above him so I lost some DOF around him.

My grandmother needed a passport photo so I did a five-minutes-living room-studio-shoot and I'm quite happy with the result (cropped to fit the passport photo dimensions needed):

Canon EOS 500D
Canon EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM
Canon Speedlite 580EX II
Nissin Speedlite Di466 on my Velbon Sherpa 600R to get the wall white
My aunt who held a white A2 paper to reflect the light of my Speedlite 580EX II. ;)

Don't know the exact EXIF data as I gave my card to my cousin because of some other shots of their children. This is just the cropped version (that somehow lost the EXIF data). Let's see when I get my card back with all the shots taken today.

Always a wise thing to paint Grandma in a good light. The lighting in this shot is super. What equipment did you use for the lighting?

I'll quote myself and add some information :D

Canon Speedlite 580EX II on my camera. I turned the head so the flashgun shot above my head (so "wrong direction" away from my grandmother), where my aunt was standing with an A2 sized paper, which reflected the light of the Speedlite back in the right direction - but much softer than before.
Behind my grandmother there was a tripod (my Velbon Sherpa 600) with my Nissin Speedlite Di466 switched to S1 (servo mode) and it fired against the white wall (which would look grey or you could see a shadow on if the second flash hadn't been there).

Quite easy "5 minutes living room studio", easy to transport (Camera, two flashguns, tripod, paper) and with a relatively acceptable result. There are more professional ways to do it (with much more efford) but it's good enough for a health insurance card.

Taken yesterday, but I love the photo nonetheless. My girlfriend and I took a drive with her dog Max so he could play at one of the local parks. Gorgeous sunset that night, and just a fantastic evening all around!

I haven't seen one of those ever before either - looks live a bee mixed with a mosquito. But luckily it acted more like a bee:

Not really shy - as you can see on my first shot, which isn't cropped much. It was funny to watch.

This is a work in progress. Working on the image in post, I accidentally found that a black background made the old iron, clear coated Ford pop. As I began to work on the background, it became apparent that I cropped too close to the roof and bumper. Having some fun (doesn't take much), I went ahead and spent the time to blip the background car show. Except for the close crop, the image looked good. To add some pad back in, I turned to windows paint. I'm not sure, but it seems paint saves files at about 640 x 480- it is low res. So, the image pixelates with the slightest of enlargement. A redo from scratch is in the cards.
