The wife and I were enjoying the morning Sun and having tea on our deck.
I noticed Morley hunkered down in stealth mode cooling off in the cool shade.

Thunder Over The Mountain, Vulcan Park, Birmingham AL July 4th, 2011

The hanging smoke was horrible. I played a little, most being iso200, 1/4sec shutter and f5.6

This first one, the firworks looks shakey but Vulcan at the bottom looks good, oh well

So I did end up photographing the Macy's 4th July Fireworks show. They were set up on 6 barges on the Hudson River with NYC in the background. Since this was my first fireworks shoot, there were lessons learned:

1. Avoid the crowd
2. Invest in Telephoto lens
3. Make sure that when the show will start, that the local authorities won't switch on super-bright lights on the crowd. I have no idea why they did that!?

ISO 6400- no noise reduction. SOOC except for the white balance correction.

Okay so I know that it wasn't taken today, but it's the only chance I've had to upload it.
