Are Drowning pool and godsmack the same band now? Sure sounds similar.

One from the good old days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY_I6doz ... re=related

A blast from my own past is a British "progressive rock" band called Gentle Giant (Wiki). I bought their first four albums as they were released (yes, that dates me) and I still listen to them.

And the joy of the Net is that, after 36 years, I finally get to see this concert footage, courtesy of YouTube.

If you enjoyed that then here's an audio only "video" of one of my favourites.
Working All Day (YouTube link) from "Three Friends

Working all day, I'm digging up the roads, just working all day.
Dig for my pay and spend it where I like. I've nothing to say.
Drown in my sweat but money buys escape. I've got no regrets.
      Working all day
      Working all day

When I was young I used to have illusions - Dreams ain't enough.
Papa was rough. He didn't care for learning. Hell life is tough.
Easy to say that everybody's equal then look around and see it ain't true.
      Working all day

I eat the dust. The boss gets all the money. Life ain't just.
I'm still the same as all the other people - who can I trust.
Working all day and never getting nowhere, what can I say working all day.
      Working all day.

Of course now that I realise there are also a couple of Gentle Giant DVDs mere YouTube videos won't be enough... 8)

Hi folks,

I'm pushing my luck posting here twice in as many days but as Vargo's new CD "Precious" finally arrived here this morning I wanted to share a spot of Electronica as a balance to my previous progressive rock offering. The most commercial track is probably Warriors (40 second YouTube snippet which includes an interesting enhancement of the eye colour) but for a more in depth glimpse of what they are about catch the VARGO Precious - Interview which runs for four and a half minutes and includes more video from the recording studio. Don't forget to select 1080p and full-screen.

There we are. I think I've used up at least my monthly allowance of posts in this thread. Enjoy. 8)

Bob.

Meh, I generally like electronica, but what Bob posted felt a bit....mainstream. I don't know. I'm not "feeling it".

Here's some weird electro/bitpop (Slagsmalsklubben).

Marijn,

Nah different bands, Drowning Pool is more pop oriented I daresay, not that that would be considered pop. Have you heard the Godsmack album that came out a few days ago? It's not bad.

Nah, it's just old man's electronica (cos I'm old). I can even remember when transistors were pretty newfangled and electronica meant valves, coils and variable capacitors...

Have been playing Michael Bublé's album "Special Delivery" over and over since I got it. Great songs, great performer, and importantly, it gave me a good idea for a short film I could make once Sony gives me a DSLR that records video... :D

Listening to the album Strike! by The Baseballs. Love it! Not all of them have the best singing qualities, but the songs are just superb!

Here's their big hit "Umbrella":
