Hi

There is a local photo comp here and the theme is "Form and Function"

I am looking for some ideas as to how to interpret this !

Would a car photo work ? A bridge maybe ? how would you interpret it ?

:?

The female body?

I guess it has as much to do with your imagination & interpretation, as anything else.

Bottle of wine & corkscrew > err... ?????? .... err ......Helicopter & `water dropper` on the landcape?

Are there any stipulations? Or is it, anything goes?

Anything mechanical that also exhibits some type of beauty. Sports car, fancy bridge, clocks, etc.

I would say you are only limited by your imagination. You have many examples of form and function in nature. A leaf has it's shape and colour to perform a specific task as do animals and how they live, from spiders webs (to catch food) to squirrels tails (for balance). then you have all the man made examples, wheels are round for a reason and houses have roof's for a reason.

update. "Form and Function"

The comp came and went. Over 70 entries. Due to work commitments i didnt get a chance to enter. However, i wish i had. The winner and second place were both in my opinion very average and the winner, who i know personally actually came over to me and asked why i didnt enter the shot i wanted to. I told him about work and also i wasnt that certain of the quality of the shot. He kicked me in the shins. quite rightly too.

Still there will be the next one.

this was the photo at about 90% complete. Still had to do some final touching up and sorting the moire....had a couple of people clip me round the ear for not entering it.

this was my backup choice.

oh well.

:)

I guess it could've won, it's a great shot. Such a shame you couldn't submit it :(

During the last ten years, the world wide web has become a new way to interact socially. The online was once regarded a hangout for geeks but now has become one of the most important interaction resources on the planet. A large element of this interaction is the posting, discussing, and installing of pictures.
