With what most would refer to as the new year approaching have you come up with any resolutions yet regarding photography?

I have 2

First is after the accident last year which stopped me from taking any really extreme outings for the spring, summer, and fall Im bound and determined to take an extended eco-expedition this summer, probably 3 weeks, and several smaller ones around a week long. Right now for the extended one my mind says East Coast... probably Newfoundland for seabird colonies (especially puffins and gannets), whales, moose and iceburgs and if I time it right maybe the caplin spawn.

My second will be much more of a challenge for my personality... to actually get my photography blog going on my website. It`s ready, I know I should, I want to, I just hate the thought of keeping it up to date and current.

I have only one main resolution for photography: to get out more often. I'm pretty lazy sometimes and I don't go out to shoot a lot, and my #1 objective will be to get out a lot more.

Similar one here: take pictures more often. I know I don't shoot a lot while I'm out with my camera, but I do intend to be out on the streets more often to actually take pictures...

Also, I will find the time sometime during the year to make my first trip down to Paris. It's odd that as a street photographer living just 5 hours away from the city, I have never been there, so it is about time.

Besides that, I want to buy a wider angle lens next year. Either a 28mm Elmarit or 35mm Summilux, depending on the budget at my disposal. The 50mm is great, don't get me wrong, but it is just too long for most of my photography.

or u could get a Summicron 35 ASPH its a favorite of most Leica users / street photographers but I guess u already had that in ur mind, ^^ I think the price is in-between the elmarit and the lux ^^

I will try to continue my period of general financial austerity until about June 2013. This means little travel, and very few significant purchases.

I plan to visit local places where the Spring migration will bring opportunites to photograph birds passing through the area. This will not be expensive, as fuel usage will be minimal, with no lodging required. I am fortunate to live near the northwest Gulf of Mexico coast! Some birds fly along the coast, and others fly across the Gulf from the Yucatan, and will stop and rest in this area after the flight.

In late May and early June, I will be on leave from work, and will have more financial freedom. Then, I can again contemplate L lenses, full-frame cameras, and perhaps the Canon RT flash system.

I plan to continue to learn more about lighting for photography. I attended two one-day classes in late 2012, and should build upon that.

I plan to give more attention to my health and fitness in 2013 than 2012! I have neglected my level of physical activity to the point that it has become notable when I climb stairs or a hill. I live on flat coastal prairie, but plan to travel to hilly or mountainous areas in the Summer.
