WOW, gotta love being in the Army, it keeps you on your toes. I've been planning on going to Afghanistan in January and miss the birth of my first child in February and not being home until September. Friday at the opening of the photo gallery I have 3 pics in for sale, I was invited to participate in putting together a judged photography art show in December for the El Paso Art Association. They need volunteers to help write the prospectus, setup and help run the show. I thought this would be great and help me get into the community.

Now enter the Army. I've been on vacation for the last week. Saturday I had to photograph a big event for our unit. While talking with our Commander, guess what, Our deployment date got shifted to November  So now I can't participate in helping with the art show and I'm not going to be around during the late part of my wife's pregnancy to help her.

I guess this will give me a chance to see what Canon is going to be doing. I've been chomping at the bit to get a 15-85 for a while now. With so many rumors with the possible replacements to the 60D and 7D including the possible APS-H sensor coming in as an in-between the APS-C and full frame, and hopefully cost wise as well, it will be interesting to watch. I hope that "IF" they do an APS-H it will be compatible with EF-S lenses, then I think that an APS-H with the 15-85 would be a great setup for me.

But, most importantly I will be home to the new baby 2-months earlier. :D
