Hi folks,
Manufacturer's Hall of ShameDesigning and selling cameras and related gear is big business with a capital "Buh" so you'd think the manufacturers would have the process down pat by now. But recently we have:
- Canon: Ships the 5D Mark III with defective RAW converter software (source The Digital Picture)
- Canon: The 5D Mark III apparently lets light enter via the top LCD affecting metering (source Canon Rumors)
- Sony: The 24 MP NEX-7 produces softer results in the corners than the 14 MP NEX-5 with a number of E-mount lenses (source PhotoZone tests)
I was sorely tempted to add another couple of items to the list but it's very easy to slip into complaints about marketing decisions rather than basic errors and I'd like to keep this thread factual, hence my offering the sources of each assertion. The examples above are just the ones I've noticed recently and I'm pretty sure Canon and Sony aren't the only culprits so feel free to share...
Bob.
