Photo #11 - Sunday 11th December 2011

Image

Model: Canon EOS 550D
ISO: 100
Exposure: 0.8064516 sec
Aperture: 8.0
Focal Length: 30mm

PP - 5 bracketed images run through Photomatrix Essentials and then using the Exposure Fusion (adjusted) preset.

Not exactly an ideal HDR subject but its because I'm experimenting with all sorts of different subjects to get to grips with what works and what doesn't.

I do like the image though for some reason

I wanted to take some photos of this friends Mustang before he sell it. TBH I'm not happy with any of the pictures hence the collage that at least 'tells a story'.

hmmmmm, not happy at all. Made way to many mistakes, got the sunset time wrong so missed the light, accidentally left the camera -1 stop so everything under exposed too. Pictures are over processed which covers up shonky basic camera work

Nice car though. Do you think he'd swap it for my Defender?

Photo #13 - Tuesday 13th December 2011

Image

Model: Canon EOS 550D
ISO: 100
Exposure: 1/160 sec
Aperture: 8.0
Focal Length: 30mm

For image #13 I'm going to use the same photo as I've submitted for the December 'On Assignment'.

Taken using the HDR function within the brilliant Magic Lantern add on firmware. 5 bracketed images

PP - Dragged n dropped into Photomatrix Essentials and then selected the Exposure Fusion (Adjusted) preset. I didnt mess with the sliders

The view this morning from the roof of my building across Al Hamra Village towards the Hajar Mountains.

Another 5 shot HDR. Hey, I'm learning and to learn you've got to practice!!

This is the Burj Khalifa

Still on track with a photo a day and only using one lens!! 8)

Model: Canon EOS 550D
ISO: 1000
Exposure: 1/50 sec
Aperture: 1.4

PP- In Picasa, added a couple of effects to spice up a not so good image

Bit of a lame one, I hadn't made the effort during the day and took this all to often seen view for me on the way home

I had a great morning taking photos of the Spinneys 92km Cycle Challenge. I ride with the organisers on a regular basis and so managed to persuade them to give me a photog pickup to myself. Got some alright shots but many were with my 18 to 135 lens so cant use them here.

Image

Model: Canon EOS 550D
ISO: 100
Exposure: 10.0 sec
Aperture: 1.4
Focal Length: 30mm

I keep taking this shot from the balcony, for some reason I really like it. This is the first time I've used the 30mm lens though and I need to experiment with shooting stars with a fast lens. New moon is coming so might be a good opportunity.

Model: Canon EOS 550D
5 image tone mapped HDR
ISO: 100
Exposure: 1/800 sec

Still messing around with HDR to get to grips with where its great and where its not. Playing with it like a kid with a new toy but that can be a bit boring for everyone else

So then, 2 thirds of the way through and I'm a bit gutted I've missed a couple of days

Need to get back on track and make sure I dont miss any more. Feel like I need to make a conscious effort every day now to get a decent image

Warth Man - Not sure he'll swap but it is for sale. Its a great car, I love it and lust after it badly

Jiko & HikingMike - Everyone is loving number 13, its probably my most likes photo ever on Facebook too. Guess this is where HDR really can make a huge different to photography
