I'd really love to have the 5D2 - It has never been as affordable as it is now.

Indeed, the rumored release of a 5D3 has seemed to have caused 5D2 inventories to increase, rather than disappearing as soon as they hit the shelves. My nearest independent camera dealer has several of them on the top shelf, the price is not (yet) discounted notably.

Pre-owned 5D1 prices have declined, which helped me decide to get my 5D1.

Thanks. Thinking of selling my 50D and maybe the 17-55 or 15-85 - and get the 24-70L

5D MkII will be in my hands on Monday or Tuesday, the 35/1.4L, 135/2L, 85/1.8 and 580EX II will be here sometime in the next week or so.

My credit card just shed a single tear.

Yay for second-shooting a ton of weddings this coming year!

Broke down and got a 70-200L 2.8 IS II. I made the mistake of trying it out in a store last summer. I'm weak.

Plymer, you will enjoy the 35L, for sure! I love mine! Congratulations on your second-shooter ensemble!

I am nervously considering whether to be at a local dealer at opening time this morning to purchase a 135L that was in stock Friday at closing time. I decided to wait overnight, at least, to make the decision, as this will be the last major purchase that can be covered by the extra hours I worked between Thanksgiving and New year's Day.

lagnificent, congratulations on the superb 70-200! Zooms do not normally excite me, but that one surely does!

Thanks, as nice as it is, it's really not my most used zoom. I use the EF-S 17-55 IS more. 17-55 isn't quite as sharp, but its range is just too useful. My 1.4 50mm USM and 100mm macro USM collected dust so I sold them along with a EF-S 55-250 IS for a 70-200. I didn't care for the octagonal bokeh they produced either. I've toyed with the thought of some Zeiss primes, but I don't know how much use I'd actually get from them.

Truth is, I'm lazy, like Zooms and IS.

It was made in Japan...

It's labeled "Canon"...

It has a red ring...

It can zoom up to 70mm...

Yeah, of course it's a Canon AC 35-70mm 3.5-4.5!

But I'm quite happy the T80 can take normal FD lenses as well. Of course they don't autofocus (while the AC lenses do) but the autofocus sensor still works and if you half press the shutter the camera beeps as soon as the subject is in focus. Quite handy. I have this FD 50mm 1.8 lens here for quite a long time now - and now I have a fitting camera as well!

Very nice: The T80 takes AAA batteries. They are cheaper than most other photo batteries used at that time.

Nice clean lines on that T80 reminds me of the new Fuji X-Pro 1 (last photo)
