There are a lot of photo hosting/sharing websites out there. Myself, I have got a Flickr Pro account last month, only to find out about 500px.com less than a month later .

So what is your photo hosting/sharing website of choice, and why :) ? I like Flickr for its social network-ish look, feel and the user-friendliness, while I love 500px for its more professional portfolio looks :D.

I've included a poll, too :). You can also show off your site if you're not already doing so in your signature or if you just want us to have a look ;).

My Flickr can be found below, in my signature.

Here is my 'normal' 500px...

Flickr - because of its popularity, content and a straightforward design and layout that works for me.

dA although it isn't a photo site as much a general art site, of which photos forms a significant part. It's more self contained though.

Secondary to that I use Picasa if I want to share photos on other websites, or for semi-private showing. Previous to that I used photobucket but they keep making the user interface worse all the time.

Tried flickr but I can't stand the interface.

Coincidently I kinda got recruited to try tumblr tonight, but I haven't got round to signing up yet.

None.

If I want to show my photos to somebody I just load them up on my server and post those pictures.

I chose Flickr because at the time that I started my account, it was one of the only photo sharing sites that I knew of. It was free, easy to use and so far I haven't had any complaints. I'm a bit worried that I'll exceed the photo limit this month, so I've been thinking of switching to a site with a higher maximum storage size per month, but right now I'm content.

Ideally I would send someone to my website if I wanted them to see my portfolio. But I like flickr because of its popularity. This is my first time seeing 500px and I'm have to admit I'm impressed.

Flickr it's popular and does exactly what it says on the tin. The community is great I like the the groups, the stats, the blogs and exif info (if the user allows). I've got more from using flickr than I have from reading any photography magazine.
Pre DSLR I was a user of Picasa Web simply because I used to use Picasa but for the whole web sharing thing it didn't really float my boat, I am keeping a close eye on it now though as the Google+ integration has really smartened it up.

Exactly what I was thinking a couple of days ago when I read about it :).

I hate the fact you have to use PayPal to pay for it though. I linked my credit card to my PayPal account just for this, paid, then removed my card from my account and removed the pre-approved payment thing. So basically, I paid for one year of 'Awesomeness' () and it'll expire within 364 days.

At least with Flickr they'll let you know when your Pro account is about to expire. And it's cheaper, too...48 bucks for a two year Flickr Pro account versus 50 bucks for one year of 'Awesome' at 500px.

I started with photobucket so I could post pics on forums. Now I mainly use flickr for that.

I still use photobucket for family to view only. More private stuff.
I just have certain albums locked up and send the links to family.

Both have advantages and disadvantages.

Well, I do have a Flickr account, with one old mobile phone image in there, that nobody can see, except that I can see it when I log in. I cannot remember why I chose Flickr. As I recall, it was just an experiment.

Use(d) Flickr until recently, when I discovered Google+. Of course that's basically Picasa, but I voted Other anyway.
