Its funny, something just make my brain turn to mud. Trying to add updates to pages of php forum code used to do it. It makes me feel especially dim and slow. I'd just stare uselessly at the screen not really able to see anything.

Now trying to understand how to use image editing / processing software and its different processes thats having the same effect. I'm trying hard to understand 'masks', when they can be used and how to go about it and I'm not getting ANYWHERE

Its infuriating feeling this thick

Sounds like too much information at the same time. I know that from learning Latin in school.

Use the things you already know and then you can start playing with one new process and if that's OK you can start playing with another one.
Having a day or two between those might be helpful.

Kind of in the same boat. Been doing a lot of shooting but can't drag myself into post production, part becasue I need to learn the software, part becasue I already spend time away from my lady between shooting and work, don't want to spend more time behind computer away from her.

Just watch loads of tutorials on youtube, read loads of tutorials on the internet, there is loads of free stuff available out there even on the Adobe website.

Buy books that are written in laymen's terms such as the Dummies guides, and just keep it at it, it WILL eventually fall into place not just over night.
