soon I will make a trip to china. Does anyone know if it pays off to buy a nikkor lens in china. Will it be cheaper? or is it 50% fake.

I usually buy my equipment in Taiwan and Hong Kong, there its definetly 40% cheaper and real ^^

tbh, I dont trust China.

You should be fine buying equipment from other locations, such as China, but there are a few things to remember. First of all, you need to keep in mind that your warranty will be void if you use the lens in another country (more specifically if it breaks in another country), which is one reason why I'd buy all my "serious" glass (mainly lenses that cost more than a few hundred dollars), in Canada, or wherever you live. You also have to keep in mind common sense, generally if a deal is too good to be true, it's probably a scam.

Buying equipment on mainland china is probably more expensive because of the import tax the Chinese government charges on all imported produce.
A few years back I found the prices being about 10% above what I would pay back in Holland.
So basically only Hong Kong is cheap because of their special place in the Chinese financial system.
