Yeah but I compared it to my FD 50mm 1.8 lens here and it doesn't fit...

OK... T-mount is good to know... let's see...
The T-mount - EOS adapters aren't that expensive...
Still it would be nice to know what that mounted adapter is.


EDIT:
I just went to a photography shop. Usually there is an old man who knows quite a lot about old cameras (but probably less about the newer ones as far as I watched him) but he wasn't there today. The younger man I found there today didn't know anything about it.
At least I tried.

The T-mount's I meant! For some lenses/telescopes you need both a T-adapter and T-Eos adapter or something like that...

well i thought id give it a comparison since phils shot of the big bro.. anyway yes practica is m42 and its not even close to this piece..

what i can say is if you look at the "hole" that goes into the camera body, it seems a lot bigger than m42 mount, and the m42 mount was designed for full frame film cameras.. so it could be a medium format mount...

Yeah! Thank you for that comment! I just checked my brother's camera bag and found his telescope-EOS adapter he (or better: we) didn't use for about two years now.
Guess how this adapter is built...
Well - I got the adapter of this adapter on the 400mm lens!


You are right - the 100-400 L lens is a bit sharper but still the result of the old 400mm lens is quite accaptable.


The picture of the old 400mm lens is a little bit darker. No pp on those two, just resized in oder to get the allowed width of 1024. Both shot @ f11
With some simple pp (brightness / contrast / sharpness) you can easily get the result from "acceptable" to "good".
Still the 100-400mm wins in every section: image quality, focussing, IS...
but the 400mm lens is quite some fun. I'll try to get a T2-M42 adapter so I can use it on my vintage Edixa camera

Hmmm... as the closest focussing distance is 12m / 40ft (against 1.8m / 6ft on the 100-400mm L lens) I guess I can forget a "bokeh comparison".
