Soooo hard for me to come up with one.. or even two cause so many hold different meanings but here it is.. ironically the whale was taken on bear outing..

love it cause of the rarity of the encounter.. distance to whale was less than a meter and it was directly below me.. also.. quite a few people have no idea what it is so there is an abstract part to it... first time I have been close enough to capture a whales whiskers is another reason but first and formost for me it was how intimate this entire encounter was and how curious the whale was in us and for how long he was willing to stay with us... around one hour...

Image

As always there are so many more for different reasons but if asked today this is what I would pick... tomorrow would almost definately bring a different answer.

Beautiful pictures. I particularly liked the yawning cat caption. But I'm a big fan of animal photography so...

2010...?

Let's see... 2011 was more effective but that's one of the best shots of 2010:

Very nice, Jiko! But why f/22? DoF?

Shouldn't we start a new thread for 2011?

Yes, DoF - but those things growing in front of me (in the left corner) is hard to see in that shot.

But I'd really start a new thread for 2011 indeed.

This one, easily. A panoramic of the new CBD in Shenzhen, China.

A few of the things it's done for me:

- Made a Book Cover (& Rear)
- Won a contest at University of Michigan
- Licensed by Getty - though not sure if it's sold anything?

Looks a little like dusky sound in NZ. But the mountains don't look right. Could be Canada ?
