Keep in mind that new equipment doesn't necessarily mean better pictures.

or
Canon EOS 1D MKII N - $2800
Canon 50mm f/1.8 - $70
Canon 17-40mm f/4 -$630
I would keep the rest - $170

Do you really need that much professtional gear that was designed for commerical use?

I'd invest it in good education, that will really change everything.

The UK government put something in the water that turns us into mugs mate.

I bought a bottle of Irn Bru in Spain before we got back on the plane to come home and it cost the equivalent of 45p. I bought the same sized bottle in Scotland for the drive back up the road and it cost me 95p. I mean, that's Irn Bru!

remember when tins of irn bru were 19p, those were the days :D

[at least the shops near me were, they all bought them in from England, i think the whole 19p thing was to try and get English people hooked on the perfection that is irn-bru!]

Where would the cheapest place to buy photographic equitment be...not including gray market stuff. (i know its totally off topic...

I would save the money and use it to repay my Student loan im using to pay my university fee's.

If I was to spend it I would do one of the following:

Buy a new Desktop Computer (my desktop is old but i have a new macbook)
Buy an iPhone
possibly sell my Sony A100, and invest in a better DSLR and some lenses
Use it on a holiday with my girlfriend
Spend it on going out and drinking alcohol, im at university after all.

I am going to go outside the box and get outside the country. I would like to travel work my way across the UK down to China and Japan over to Africa and spend some time in Scotland researching my family history.
AND take photo's along the way. I have already been across the USA twice!!

you also need 24mm 35mm and 80mm Primes :D

A zoom lens doesn't stop you thinking about the shot, it just means you have to resist that temptation to just zoom all the time.

Anyway my grand is spent so we shall see how it all pans out. Birthday soon lol!

i prefer to limit myself still. I have a 17-35mm for carry around but I usually keep my 50mm on because that is when I get my best shots. I would sell both to get a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 though because that is closest to 50mm ona DX sensor.
