EDIT: Also the 18-200mm can only be used on DX bodies.
Nope: you can easily use all DX-lenses on the D3. The camera automatically crops to DX.
Only disadvantage: you only get 5MPix images on the D3. On a (hypothetical) D3x
with a new 24MPix FX sensor (due out 2008
) you would get a perfect 10MPix crop
BUT: you can aso switch off the auto-cropping feature of the D3 and shoot 5:4 or even FX with every lens!

I've taken with 5:4 crop on a Nikon D3 with a Nikkor VR 18-200mm DX set to 170mm. There is some light-fall-off in the corners. But not bad...
