Hey I've been watching the forums for some time now and lurking around the website xD Finally got round to signing up.. My names Joe, I am just really getting into photography and I'm getting a D40 for christmas hehe xD I had the chance to play around with it before my mum took it away to be hidden :( xD My favourite photos I've taken so far are

Or

With an aging Lumix DMC-LZ3. The main reason I chose a D40 was because of the video I saw on youtube staring Mr Gordon Laing, I hope to be very active on the forum, so see you around :)

Joe

Hi Joe, and welcome to the friendly Camera Labs forum!
Hope you'll be full of praise of your new cam after X-Mas
Btw.: where do you live/shoot?

Welcome!

I like the photos. And if you haven't done so already, see some of the features of the D40 in action and some basic photo techniques on this Nikon D40 tutorial.

I live in Hertfordshire so not far from London and I'm planning on going into London and taking some night shots :) The photos above were taken in a place called Clovelly in Cornwall/Deavon

Clovelly is a nice place! Been there - unfortunately not with any photographic equipment to speak of...

Welcome (belatedly) to Camera Labs. Great photos, the first one in particular. Can't wait to see what you produce with an SLR.

And you would not want to walk up through Clovelly with anything more than a point and shoot in your hand especially after you have had a couple in the pub at the bottom (hic)
