If you want to make big money in photography, call yourself an artist and take abstract pictures. Make sure you can tell a deep story with them, and you'll be on your way to fortune in no time, ahaha!

Is Damien Hurst a taxidermist or an artist?
If YOU presented a student bedsit to an art gallery would have more or less merit than Tracey Emin's unmade bed?

It really is down to "the eye of the beholder" if someone is prepared to award a prize, pay a large price or review something in a certain way then it is down to them. You don't have to agree but that is the nature of art in any of it's forms.

Bjorn, I guess I will never be called an artist or make any money as the wire shot does not bind the surfaces of an empty room to the space of interior memory in my mind, perhaps it’s empty.

Interesting the front page of our local daily printed the wire shot with around 10 other abstracts shots their phototogs took in the afternoon asking reading to guess the $10,000 shot, I don’t think the paper was impressed.

Last year there was one winner in this comp and it was a shot of a brown paper bag which did not fill the space of interior memory in my mind.
