Now I suddenly feel an urge to go buy a veru old camera. Odd that. Was the focus mainly on Old digital ones? Cause I seem to remember my stepdad having an slr back in the 70's it might be hidden somewhere in my mums house :)

I think our current entry rules are pretty broad "nowadays". I think pretty much every old kickass camera can join. Maybe we need a VIP section now

That highlights the problem of my photo-interest having really not errupted untill the last year and a half or so. Have no idea what is kickass from the old days :)
I'll just see if I find something and then come ask.

Or maybe just divide the members into two categories; one with emphasis on the kick-ass part where the cameras can handle everything you throw at them and one with emphasis on the oldie-but-goodie part with really old top-of-the-line cameras. How does that sound to the rest of you?

The same here. March 2009 I bought my 40D and the year before that, in April, I bought a Canon PowerShot S5 IS, whichj gives me a cycle of a year per camera so far. Next year around this time I might get the 5DmkIII if it has come out by then (fingers crossed), so the cycle looks like it will continue for me, at least until next year.

hahaa Esbenlp, i know how u feel when u have that 8.5 fps looking at you.

i'll tell a secret
when i just got my D2H, i would have it next to me all the time. And I just fire off 20 frames at 8fps at a blank wall (or my my dog sometime)

like when i'm watching TV... and when commercials comes up, I FIRE!
or like when i'm on Camera labs forum, saw a boring post... I FIRE!
or even i'm about to sleep, and can't sleep, then FIRE!
Or sometime when my dad ask me something, FIRE! "what did u said dad??? i'm sorry this shutter sounds too fast and loud!! i can't hear you!"

added:
Or on purpose, when i'm with other photographers, "hey can i try out your D2H?? " they asked. The FIRE!, "what the heck was that crazy shutter..." they said.
"oops my bad, i left it on 8fps mode, let me change it to normal"

:P
ps. dont tell my mama

pss i think i just added 1,000 shutter actuation that way

An update to the welcome of the club has been made. Please review and come with feedback on the changes.

As you can see, the club is already divided! Now, you might think "Why?" and there is a perfectly rational explanation to this. As the club is very young and not yet fully developed, it alters and adapts to the reality it finds itself in. It was born as the kick-ass-oldie-but-goodie-camera-club but has since embraced owners of cameras with an oldie-but-goodie>kick-ass ratio and I therefore felt the urge as founder of the club (and by encouragement from another member) to make two separate member lists. One for owners of cameras with a kick-ass>oldie-but-goodie ratio and one for owners of cameras with the aforementioned oldie-bit-goodie>kick-ass ratio. This, however, left two members in a grey area and here is where I need the feedback from you, the other members, to help me decide where to put those two members.

I hope that these changes are not too much and if so, I will cancel them and return member lists to the previous amount.

As Vice president of the Oldie but awesome club, I have done some research about the 5D, and it, indeed, appears to be an Oldie but Awesome camera. Welcome Popo!

Also, I have no idea who the president of the oldie but awesome group is, I just appointed myself vice president for the sake of feeling important. That is all, thank you.
