Is there anyway to use flash units that have pc sync cables on a camera like my 350D which only has a hot shoe?

I don't think the studio flashes in my photography class have the infra-red trigger stuff in them, so I think thats out.

Any type of converter that could just set them to fire when the shutter release is pressed, or is it just not going to happen without a XXD Canon?

Hi Daniel, I haven't used these but I heard the Pocket Wizards are to trigger SLRs and strobes with the master unit or the shutter release.

Ah, no idea what those are but I might have a look on google later, hopefully they arn't expensive.
