This may sound a little weird but what are these? I always see pros use them, can anyone explain to me what are pocket wizards?

im no expert but they are wireless remotes used to trigger external flashes (strobes), pocket wizards are also very reliable but also very expensive hence why you only see pros using them.

I might have to pick one up since I was told(although not convinced...someone please help) that I will have to have one or a SB-800 to control my SB-600 when I get my new camera body. It will be a D80 or D200 so I should be able to use the on-board flash as a commander but I was told by some people at Ritz that I couldn't do that with the the SB-600 alone.

I wouldn't mind getting one of theses and a couple slave flashes but I would like to save my money.
