Hi:

It looks like US1Camera has very good prices for the camera setup I want to purchase, but I never heard of them.

My concern is not getting stuck with grey-market products, they do mention on the site and on the products I am looking at that:

"All products include USA Manufacturer Warranty"

It sounds like they are legit?

Do I have to buy from an authorized dealer for the manufacturer (Canon) to let me register the products and honor the warranty? I usually buy my expensive electronics at local stores so spending a lot of money online worries me.

Hi Mitch, when it comes to buying from a store you're not familiar with, always check them out in www.resellerratings.com first. If they're legit and it's not a grey import, then the warranty should be fine. Basically the warranty is generally valid for the country where the camera originated from. So if you're from the USA and buy a model meant to be sold in the USA, then the warranty should be applicable in the USA.

The problems start when people import goods from abroad as obviously they'll have a foreign warranty. Annoyingly few products have international warranties...
