Hello forum members,

I thought I'd get that first post taken care of with a quick introduction. As my forum name implies, I call Seattle home, but find myself currently working in Taipei, TW.

I'm looking forward to hanging out here gathering information and hopefully contributing some worthwhile knowledge of my own.

Cheers!

-steve

Thanks for the welcome Luis and Telexstar! I'm looking forward to becoming part of the Camera Labs forum.

I've really enjoyed Gordon's reviews and like the 'feel' of this community.

Welcome to the forums Steve. Notice any differences between Taipei and home? Lol. Looking forward to seeing some of your shots.

Daniel, Roland and Zorro,

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm already enjoying all the conversations around the forums. You have a friendly bunch of people here. It's nice to be part of such a civilized forum.

Daniel - Is your screen name referring to the nVidia graphics card or is there some other meaning to it? Just curious... :?: About the gear list...did you know that you can sell one of your kidneys on eBay for a good profit?

Yeah, Ebay banned me from listing body parts so im stumped now!!! lol

Yep it refers to the NVIDIA brand of graphics cards - NVIDIA FTW! And now that NVIDIA own Voodoo, I can say I've been a NVIDIA user since day 1. (Had the 256 so thats like day 1 anyway!)

Voodoo 1
Voodoo 2 (no sli though!)
Voodoo 3
Nvidia 256
GeForce
GeForce 2 Ultra
Geforce 4800 Ti
GeForce 6800GT
GeForce 8800GTS 640Mb (Current)

GeForce 5 and 7 were stop-gaps, and I wasn't told about the GeForce 3 at the time, because I didn't know how to check, but I got a GF4 as soon as they hit!

(also note, back in the day when I was say 4, had 286's, 386's 486's in the house, along with eventually a Pentium 90Mhz, which had a fatal error when doing a certain calculation if I recall correctly! Doom 1 @ <20FPS!)

Thanks for the welcome Gordon. I'll grab a bubble tea for you, they're definitely not hard to find here.

Amokster - It's a small world. Nice to have a neighbor on the forums, although I'm currently working in Taipei.

Daniel - I know who I'm going to ask if I have any graphic card questions.
