That is the same image I have for the avatar. I don't really have any self portraits and always somebody else takes a picture of me. Maybe I should try to make some self portraits.

Learning point: It's a common rookie error - easily spotted when you see the majority of the group squinting as the light is behind the photographer (facing the subjects who squint...& also casts the shadow).

i knew about this...

i also warned them of it continuously during the shoot.

they said they didnt really mind the consequences of shooting at noontime at the beach.

also, this was a test shot.

i went with this angle
