I don't know whether you've read about this guy, but he's been labbeled Internet Freak here on the forums before. Let me search for the thread......
Ah, found it. Internet Freaks!
For more info about Joseph Nicholas Spina, and about how he lies, check this website.

I got myself banned from his channel, for no apparent reason.
Still, his videos are often nice to watch, I agree!

The Nikon Help Hotline was a very informative & some entertaining about how to sometime related photography Highly essential for Nikon user. Although I'm a Canon User but his Youtube Page are warm welcome to other
non Nikon user. I do noticed his collections of his Nikon was a huge set from Nikon D40 to Nikon D3 until the D3X & plenty of high end lens that includes 12 24, 24 70 & even the 70 200 VR !. Anyway for Nikon User ( although I should have a Nikon DSLR but anyway I will get it in the future ) are highly recommended to grab a popcorn & watch his video Cheers :D :D

Has anyone thought of the fact that as well as most of this guy's webactivity, his gear might also be fake? Who knows, maybe he works for a camerastore, or is granted access to a Nikon builing, so he can show off with gear that's not his...

Well ummm :? it is really hard to judge either he is a liar or not but still I'm subscribed his channel & from his video none of it mention about working with the National Geographic. I do noticed the was a lot of error about his tutorial. There was a website about him that he is a liar honestly I do not believe this is true the way that guy ( maybe related to Joey perhaps his enemy or against him) was totally insulting him. If there is an error should tell what was the mistakes honestly & NOT adding very insulting word
Still watch his video & make myself this fake issue never appear 8)

Honestly, I hate joey (the guy)

I have to say, his videos are really good, he's got good tips, their very well edited, etc. But he is a compulsive liar. He is not, and never will be the Director of Photography at NG, he hasn't graduated from Brooks Photo institute, etc.

I would like him a lot more if he would realize hes not that good. He criticizes people for being 'gear heads' (I've talked to him on AIM) but still.

The videos are good, the advice is fine (usually, some of it is total bs) but Joey is a lair, just keep that in mind.

Jake

The guy is a liar and a fraud. You can bury your head in the sand and pretend otherwise, or you can acknowledge that and then go to some other place and learn real photography.

give him some credit, the videos are well filmed and edited, weather his facts aren't 100% and even if he is a liar. Everyone can't be Gordon, don't you guys know?

Put it this way....

Would you buy from a shop that lies to its customers? The products being sold there may be perfectly fine but I wouldn't buy from them, I would go somewhere else that has good customer service and don't lie, even if its more expensive.

Except that in this case, the product (i.e. information) is totally worthless. The fact that there are people who defend the nonsense he's spewing just shows how important it is to completely and thoroughly debunk the nonsense he's spewing. Seriously guys, just fact check anything he says (Google for it even) and you'll see that he's just blowing hot air and completely misleading you.

Even the most introductory book on photography is better than watching that dude.

I got banned from his channel as well lol, I don't really like his videos anyway and he seems like a very weird person.

By the way, thanks for those links Bjorn, really funny stuff.
