Ok guys, as some of you may know i am going to buy a 70-200 f/4 l and and maybe a lowepro primus aw, after christmas. I find that i generally get the best value for money on amazon uk, usually better than ebay!

I have been closely observing prices of the above items and the gorrilapod slr zoom. Just look the price increases of the items, in the last couple of weeks:
Canon 70-200 f/4 L from £395 to £446
Lowepro Primus AW form £55 to £110
Joby Gorilla pod SLR Zoom from £26 to £32

It says on their hompage "great deals", um yeh right! I am waiting till Beginning of Feb 09 to get my kit, as that is when i get more money, and hopefully i will save £150 odd £ on all that kit!

Amazon UK are still very competitive on many items. But I wonder if it might be the effect of the US$ exchange rate kicking in. Not long ago you could get $2 to a £, now it's under 1.5... so if items made outside the EU are tied to the US$, they just got a whole lot more expensive.
