Hi PC Gamers...

I'm new to PC gaming.... Not a serious "gamer" though..... :(
But i would like to do few now as a easier "Time pass" between my hectic work...... :(

I do have a Dell Laptop with 250GB HDD....

Any suggestions on the joysticks and games that i can buy or download....??????? :?
I'd appreciate if you can share what you are using for the games..... :)

- Counter-Strike
- Grand Theft Auto
- Call Of Duty 4
- Hitman Blood Money
- Battlefield 2

That's pretty much it :)

I'm not big on games myself but a few I enjoyed playing. No First Person Shooter or racing games but things at a more gentle pace.

There are of course oodles of on-line games. Bloxorz for instance.

Small version and Large version. I finished all levels. Some are pretty tricky.

I also enjoyed the graphics adventures in the Broken Sword series. Four so far.

Hi swame_sp,

In terms of peripherals I use a keyboard (Saitek gaming one, but that really doesn't matter greatly) and a Razer Lachesis gaming mouse. If you're going to upgrade something, I'd recommend the mouse first - most important thing for gaming (outside the computer that is).

Games - yh all of the above really. Oh and if you want a blast from the past, try Quake 3. It's old and much less popular than it was when it came out but in my opinion it's one of the best FPS games ever made. It will soon be available for free via a browser launch from ID software I believe. Just type Quake Live in google.

Good luck,

Mark

You cna buy them at every game shop probably. Any plave where they sell games. And some of the games (At least Call of Duty and Counter-Strike) can be purchased and downloaded using Steam (Search steam on google). Actually they also have a cool fun game called TrackMania, racing game (Which is free :D).

And Vista. TrackMania does, Grand Theft Auto does, Counter-Strike does, Call of Duty does (Though some problems may occour). These are just the games that i've tried on Vista. The others will probably also work on Vista ;)

Get a good mouse, they are invaluable if you games or just use a lot of the computer really. I use a Razer Copperhead and it's great but there are newer and better models from Razer and other brands like Microsoft and Logitech nowadays.

Try the Need for Speed series, completely unrealistic but really fun. NFS Most Wanted is a future classic!

I enjoy first person shooters and the likes although I'll try most games that have been given good reviews, so here's my list of reccomended games;

* = games that can be had for cheap as are getting on a bit

*Far Cry
*F.E.A.R
Counter Strike Source
Bioshock
*Grand Theft Auto
Crysis (although probably wont play very well on your pc)
*Worms world party

As far as free on line games go, at www.miniclip.com there are free little games i.e tetris type games and so on if you just want to pass some time.

Hi guys,

on the topic of First-Person_shooters, this military-themed infantry-focused shooter Combat Arms is 100% free.

A 450Mb download - you can find it here: http://combatarms.nexon.net/

It's online-only - essentially the spiritual successor to Counterstrike.

Works great on most PCs as it has very low requirements. Tens of thousands of players - great mindless fun.

Cheers :-)

I'm sure I remember reading that Far Cry can be downloaded from Ubisoft as freeware now... with advertising in the menus and load screens.
