I just downloaded Google Chrome and am very impressed with it so far. It feels fast and seems good for an early beta. The main thing missing at the moment is mouse gestures but once people start developing plugins I'm sure that will arrive.

Will Google allow a plug-in which disables Google ads?

But yes, it does look quite impressive. I hope they allow themes though, not a fan of that blue.

A friend of mine read an article about Google Chrome. They said it was good, the pros and cons etc etc...

BUT! They also said that, when you install Chrome, then EVERYTHING you upload with, you give right to Google so they can use, sell, edit.. Also known as, They now own the thing you uploaded. And this is indeed 'dangerous' for photographers (like us) who upload our pictures.
Someday we may take a picture for a pying client, we upload it so the client can see it and BAM. Now google can sell it for own profit. I'm sure threre's more precise artciles on the internet, so go look it up, as i might not be totally right.

So watch out, and don't use it untill you're totally sure what it is. (As i'm not really)
Just to warn you. Please correct me if anyone finds out, and i'm wrong.

EDIT:
Just read something about Google removing that part of the deal, but not sure.

PC Pro has a write-up on Google Chrome this month. Despite it appearing snappier to load pages benchmark tests reveal few differences and it's less functional than Firefox.

I don't have a huge hang up about anonymity on the Net. Heck, I even use my real name here on the forum but it seems to me that it is just becoming too easy for Google to know everything about it's customers. Do we really all want to end up with advertising so fine tuned to our profiles that we end up as puppets dancing to the Google-master's tune?

Maybe that's not how it will work but any browser from Google is on my "don't touch with a bargepole" list just in case.

Bob.

I don't do anything illegal or unethical so it doesn't bother me too much that they can find out what I do. What worries me is that they have the means and are using it for reasons that ultimately, do nothing for me.
