That article makes it look a lot harder than it is.
If you get an OEM Sata drive (bulk, with no box or cables), it works out cheaper. Only thing is you'd need to buy a Sata cable if you don't already have a second one. They are dirt cheap though.
Slide/screw the drive into one of the drive bays. Look for the sata ports on your motherboard, plug the one end of the cable into the drive, the other into the board. Plug in a power source from the Power supply.
All you need to do once your pc is up and running is to go to 'device manager' (right click 'my computer' in your start menu and click manage) then click on 'disk management', where you can format the disk.
