I've been looking at getting a scanner for quite some time to scan in & archive old family photos (photos & film). While researching what scanner to get I've narrowed the list down to two:

CanonScan 9000F:

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner:

If anyone could give their two cents on this scanners it would be greatly appreciated.

I have to say that buying this scanner was one of the best ideas I had in a long time.This is a really great scanner. Pro's and Con's below:

Pros:
Best hardware resolution in the market (unless you want to spend $thousands)
Scans up to twelve 35mm negative frames at a time.
Ability to adjust many properties of the scan and output image in the Advanced tab of the software driver interface.
Extremely fast scanning for lower resolution scans when using it as a flatbed scanner.
Tech support is really good (quick reply, dedicated person, off-hour support)
Photoshop included.

Cons:
The software is a bit clunky:
After adjusting the available "Preferences" (from two different locations) I still have to perform many wasted, annoying "clicks" (various confirmation boxes, remove date string, output file type is not remembered between scans). If you have thousands of negatives and slides to scan as I do, this will wear on you...
