Hello everybody!

I've recently been looking at Wacom tablets, primarily to do some sketches on my PC and some photo editing. Are these tablets really useful when it comes to Photoshop PP, or should I simply stick to a mouse?

I've been looking at the Bamboo Fun and the Intuos3 or Intuos4. Does anybody have some recommendations? Thanks!

Many years ago in my former life as an IT journalist specialising in imaging, I reviewed several tablets and found Wacom to be the best. If you're drawing or painting in any application, they're invaluable - also much easier to make freehand selections...

I have an intuos 4 (medium), which is great. I do not use it much though, so do find that I am not as proficient at uing it as I should be. Still, I am slowly getting to know how to use it and find that it is more accurate than using a mouse. The software works well and the quality of the product is great. They also package it well, which one would expect considering the target market I suppose.

I have a wacom bamboo tablet. One of more economical models and I love it. Some tasks cannot be replaced by a mouse however I do find for graphic design and some editing of my photos it is useful. The most useful diffarence is the pressure sensitivity , also selecting points is more intuitive with a pen.The only disadvantage I've had is that extened use gives my wrist some strain but thats probably because I dont use it enough
