One can always save more. You never know when you might happen to have a large commission shoot & need to hire assistants/have outlay costs.

I've gotten 3.6 on my E6600 on stock 8)

Granted it didnt last 24 hours but still LOL

I should be fine, I've up'd the voltages majorly on my ram and cpu before.

My e6600 at one point was drawing almost DOUBLE its normal power consumption!!!!! LOL

I still want this new pc for the SAS support, and besides, free SAS drives, haha!

I was of course talking about a sustainable overclock. I've gotten my quad to 3.3 GHZ but the temps were too high for my liking (69 C) under full load. ;)

Based on what I see, I think your current gears are pretty complete now, at least better than most pro photographers out there.

If I were you I will use the extra money for business purpose, maybe some frugal but on target marketing that give me more clients.

The other way to spend might be to attend some workshops to learn more by getting them to give feedback to your work. It also give you opportunity to network with other pro photographers. You'll never know if you might strike a deal or two.

With that money you can either allocate some money to get more gears and another marketing or workshop/training.

Well the reason I want another computer more than the others is.

I can cope in terms of camera gear, im not SCREAMING for an ultra wide, the 24mm is great. (15mm 1.6x crop equiv)

Not Screaming out for a 50mm f/1.4, i can crop in on a 28mm f/1.8 shot if i need to.

A faster pc would help, especially in speeding up workflow AND allow me to have one at my little studio.

I would buy more lenses and or accessories, then again i already own a i7 965 system :P

but buying memory and a faster cpu would give you the boost your looking for w/o building a new system

And save some cash lol

Asus P6T WS PRO - £235
OCZ 6GB DDR3-1333Mhz CL7 (7-7-7-20) XMP £199

Yes, the intel Thermal Specification is around 70 degrees with most processors, but you can go over it 'till ~80-90 degrees. The thing you should worry about is the socket melting ;).

No, intel's thermal rating is the temperature at which the processor will suffer the least from electromigration, a phenomenom which increases at higher temperatures, and reduces the lifespan of your chip. Although in your case, I doubt any of those chips reach their full end-of-life cycle ;)

And yes, that P4 runs hot.

I would have said 50mm and a nice ringflash, but you've already spent your money...
Congrats on all the new stuff!

Ohi have some left for sweeties ^_^

Trying to cut down on those...as much as i would like to climb hills to take pretty pictures, my body is currently saying "Don't you dare!!"

Everyone worries to much. if i'm gonna break it - it'll be within the first day.

FIRST DAY IS TOMORROW BTW! =D All the stuff should be here by 2pm tomorrow!

Before i go to college tomorrow im taking my current pc up to teh shop to swap case, Core i7 is getting my BEEFY Thermaltake Armor (full tower with a full compliment of 7 case fans!) and its going to be stuck in a room which has no heating with an ambient temperature of around 15 degree's - See why i only need a stock cooler ;)

Not sure when the SAS drives are comming, gonna make a phone call tonight see when we can get them in.

Got the compressed air machine though the back for air blasting out my case, gonna give it a nice polish up, clean all the fans, sort the cabling etc.

EXCITIED! Hell who cares about the studio lights, this is the real deal here!

Also for those in teh know, currently no one LOL - I'm making a little podcast about me "making" my studio. filmed on the 5DmkII in glorious HD...but unfortunately, it'll be distributed in 720p for viewing on the youtubes...more on that in a new thread.
