Hi Guys,
Have been nosing around and seeing how Windows 7 is coming together, and from what i can see it is going to be quite alot better than Vista!
Also it looks like it is going to have some new cool features like 'Shake' 'Superbar' etc.....

Heres a link to a video of the latest build on Youtube (Build 6801):

Now will it run LR, Opera, iTunes, Office 2007 and VLC  ?

I will believe it when i see it TBH. I think what windows 7 needs is less features and crap built into the operating system.

I think they should go back to windows XP and build from there.

I think Vista had enough features to keep it relevant for quite a while so MS should just focus on improving performance and stability with 7. I'm more interested in Snow Leopard though.... 8)

They are, but i think these few new features, are actually going to pretty useful in everyday situations, unlike some of Vistas, gimmiky ones! But yes Snow Leopard with 'OpenCL'

Anybody heard of the inclusion of NFS (new file system) into W7?
That was touted as a major breakthrough to be delivered in a SP to Vista early on but disappered since than from any announcements :(
It was supposed to be a completely databased file-system bringing an end to all the different metadata for mails, music, videos, photos, tagging in Lightroom, organizing in media player...
[dream on]

Win FS was supposed to be launched with Longhorn.

Longhorn became Vista.

Win FS is still available as a BETA download through my MSDN subscription, and all I want from Windows right now, be it Vista (I love x64 Vista) or Windows 7.

I am not excited about 7, simply because Vista is great, and 7 seems to be a marketing fluff campaign...

And XP is still faster than Vista haha!

Although, in recent tests from the latest Beta (like last weeks beta) they found Windows 7 actually surpassed xp in the majority of the test.

Hope it stays that way.

When i had Beta 1 of longhorn (and beta 2 of vista when they gave it the name) it was BLAZING fast, even RC1 and RC2 were fast, but then...it just got slow and bloated once they obviously started adding in the stuff that didnt need to be there :(
