Cooper Union in NYC has a strong arts program - They definately have a program in photography...

Its hard to get into, but if you do... Its free! Everyone goes to Cooper Union for free.. and its in NYC... couldn't be in a better place...

I'm not sure about NYU programs but their arts programs in general have such a good rep. that I'd be surprised if their visual arts program in photography was not strong.

Could be interesting to look up the faculty at the schools you look at and see what sort of work they do... You might find someone really inspiring at a school you thought wasn't much of a contender...

Well i think its very important to choose the right city as well, as the right collage...

If the city is in a bigger city where a lot of things "go down" so to speak, you can always get inspiration, which is a key thing for many artist. I realize this because i lived in a city with 18 million ppl, and a now living in a place with merely 20 000 ppl at the most, and its "harder" to find inspiration over here....

that something to take into account as well, but NYC thats not an issue :P
