Here's my settings in the custom settings section:

02.Long exposure noise reduction : AUTO
06: Exposure level increments: 1/3 Stop
08: E-TTL II: Average


Auto power off: 30 sec

So it let you put the camera ON when you go outside, and not worry about battery life- after 30 sec it will turn off, and if you need to snap a shot, just press the shutter button !

Also in Picture Styles:

Sharpness: +7
Color Saturation: +1

I have sharpening dialed to 0.

I want sharpening to happen at the last stage of post processing, which can be as simple as resizing (resampling) an image. In that sense I am always post-processing the pictures to a degree. Despite in-camera sharpening, a resampled picture is almost always a bit soft and needs to be resharpened anyway.

Even if I print directly from the CF card, I find that certain sharpening will be applied by the the commercial lab.
