which is better between those two camera..

just disregard the sweep panorama and 10fps
of HX1 because we've already got a TX1 who has
that features.. so if the HX1 doesn't have that 2 features,
what would you choose?

i'm planning to get 1 of those 2 camera
maybe next week.. so please help me..

thanks in advanced for helping me..

Hi jasta01,

May I offer you a warm welcome to the CameraLabs forum.

It sounds as though you've already read Gordon's reviews and, for the record, the SX20 IS features in the CameraLabs Best Buys. Maybe if the reviews and feature lists don't swing your decision then try and get down to a store and handle both cameras and see which one feels best?

Bob.

ive already seen that review by Gordon..

thank you so much for your suggestion to
try those two camera in store.. but here in
our country, i cant find available HX1 for me
to try.. only SX20 is available so i dont have
any chance to try those two..

do the 3MP makes a big difference for taking
pictures and recording some videos?

Hi jasta01,

No, I wouldn't get too worried about the difference between 9 and 12MP. You can see any differences from Gordon's reviews and if you want more then you can always go to Flickr.com and search using the two camera model names for more images to evaluate (example).

over the years I have had the SX3IS, SX5IS and SX10IS... I still have the SX10IS as a backup camera I take with me on trips just in case the unthinkable happens to me dslr. I think you will find the canon to have a better build than the sony as well... but as seen above.. I'm biased towards canon. :)

For me I was able to eliminate the Sony earlier in the selection process in favor of the Panasonic DMC-FZ35 over it with its better quality lens and better for close up work. If you are on a big OE I guess the panoramic feature would come in very handy but there is software out there to easily join up photos (so I was told by the camera salesman). Plus I've read complaints of slow processing speeds and grainy pics. So in the end my choice was between the Canon and Panasonic and went for the Canon as I to have had them before and am biased towards their quality .... plus my last Sony broke down twice in 6 years and my old Canon still chugs on. So just bought an SX1 IS.
