Hi pls can anybody help me out,
Am about to buy two good canon lens which are Canon10-22mm and canon17-55mm which is better or can i have them both
i love taking Landscape and portrait picture
My camera is Canon 600D

"Better" is an inappropriate word as the lenses have different focal ranges. Granted, there is some overlap but they ultimately serve different purposes.

Yes i know both serve different proposes,but i just want to know if the 10-22mm will be ok for landscape while the 17-55mm for portrait.

Definitely. I don't do a huge amount of landscape photography but I use my Tokina 11-16mm for it.

While it's perhaps not a classic portrait lens, the f/2.8 aperture will make it better suited than most wide-angle zoom lenses for portraits.

The 10-22 would be an excellent lens for landscapes, you can't really get any wider than that without getting into circular fisheye territory. Also take a look at the Tokina 11-16, its constant f/2.8 aperture can be a life saver when doing landscapes in dimmer light, it's an overall excellent lens (I'm sure Rorschach can back me up on that one!).

The 17-55 is less of a portrait lens, and more of a general purpose zoom. While it would work, you'd be better off with an 85mm, 105mm, 135mm, or if you can afford it, a 70-200mm. In general 55mm is a bit too short for most portraits, but it certainly will work if you need it to. If you can dish out the extra cash, the 24-70 may be a better bet as you get a longer focal length, plus it will be compatible with a full frame camera if you choose to upgrade in the future. The 24-105 f/4 is also a great, very versatile lens with an excellent price tag, but you do lost a stop of light.
