I am looking to buy a quality pocket camera and have narrowed the options down to 2: Panasonic TZ10 and Cannon sx210.
Which of the two is recommended?
Is any other model better?

It really all does depend on your preference. The Panasonic has some features like GPS, a slightly longer zoom, a larger grip, a Leica lens (Although not as good quality as a Leica rangefinder lens!) and some more advantages. The Canon also has a certain appeal, I've always liked Canons, and I don't know much about Panasonics, but I'm sure that they're good cameras.

The Panasonic has a SLIGHTLY larger sensor (Larger by 0.03 inches larger) although not enough to make a difference. It also has a higher res screen, and I like the top design better, but that's personal. I like the pop-up flash on the Canon, but that's also personal. The Panasonic looks better on paper, but it also costs about $70 more.

NOTE: don't be fooled by megapixels, more megapixels doesn't mean a better image, just a larger file. Anything over 5 is sufficient.

So, go to a camera store and try them both out, see which you like better.

I hope that I helped!

Thanks.
In general I heard that the Canons are more reliable and have better processors.
