Well, I bought the Nikon D90 kit. Haven't yet played with it much outdoors yet. Hopefully tomorrow!

jwnrw, I looked at the Canon 50D while at the store. It seems really solidly built to me, especially in comparison to the T2i/550D. It felt and looks a bit bigger than the D90 (so it be the same compared to the Canon T2i) and I liked the way it felt in my hands. Seemed more comfortable to hold than the D90 in my opinion (at least for my hands).

I am sure you will enjoy the D90. Nevertheless, all you say about the 50D is the exact way that I felt when I first held one in my hands. They truly are a well thought out, and solid offering.

Reju, nope. Yes, they have, but it isnt usable. Its a contrast based AF system (check the video review of them) and theyre VERY slow.
Shame.
