I'm thinking to buy my first DSLR camera. I'm a beginner and until now I was always using compact cameras. Which model shall I choose? I don't want it to be too complicated to use, I need a nr of MP higher than 12.1and my max price tag will be around £600. I also prefer not to change lenses too often as I'm always in move, with 2 small children...
What about Pentax K20D? Or is there anything better for my needs?

I am just curious. Why do you feel the need for >12MP? Also, why the desire to not change lenses? That's a key advantage to a DSLR.

I would see if you can find some older Sony Alpha 350 models in stock. They are better than the new 380, IMO. Easy to use and 14 megapixels. Find a use Minolta lens like the AF 70-210mm f/4 beer can to go with it for around $200US. See Sony reviews here. Pentax is OK but lenses are higher.

Don't stare yourself blind on megapixels, these don't matter. A DSLR set to 4 megapixels will still beat almost any compact out there, both in features and imagequality. ;)
