I have this problem in a while now I cant actually use it on my main computer (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) because it says F:/ not accessible so I have to use my laptop which is using Linux to transfer files.

does anyone have this problem? I tried to put a permission but no luck.

I think we need a bit more information:
How old is the drive
What operating system and format were used when it was new
When did it last work and does it work when connected to any system

Do you have any diagnostic tools that you can use to check the drive?

my computers are running in windows 7 64-bit and Linux, well I used it most of the time but on my laptop which is Linux because thats the only way I can access to it.

at least a year now and I tried to fix it now its f*cked up and I'm using SeaTools for windows and I testing it now and so far there are 36 errors and tested it on my laptop the linux utility says theres at least 1000 bad sectors.

from 500GB down to 47GB seems like the craps ate my space. O_o

If the drive is less than 5 years old you could see if the warranty is still valid, the Maxtor One Touch drives had a 5 year warranty. But you need to get in touch with Seagate, as they took over Maxtor in 2006.
