Thats about double the speed of an Extreme IV isn't it? Still not fast enough for unlimited continuous raw on the 50D though :P

Not quite sure how much faster UDMA can go before we reach its edge and CFAST has to take over.

Believe the ATA interface goes up to 133 MB/s so not much room left...

What I find a lot more interesting than those overpriced Pro Extremes, are the new "Normal" extremes!

60mb/s Cards at almost half the price as the older Extreme IV 45MB/s models.. that's just great!

My shop has them listed as following (well the Extreme IV is "end of life" and won't be delivered anymore) 150 Swiss francs equals about 100 euros:

http://digitec.ch/ProdukteVergleichen1. ... 443,174554

here's the link from the sandisk homepage with the list prices: http://sandisk.com/products/dslr/sandis ... -card.aspx

Probably not that quickly. When I was shopping around in early 2008, the Sandisk Extreme IV was selling for about £80. Nearly 2 years later, it's now selling for £60. That's not a huge drop, to be honest. See this graph for evidence.

I just received a 16GB extreme pro card. I bought from Amazon France, so I was expecting to get a real card etc.

The problem is, I just tested it vs my Extreme IV 8GB card. It is slower in every test. Needless to say I will be contacting sandisk regarding this to check if 1. if it is real, 2. if it is a bad copy or something, as the performance is nothing like it should be. On my 7D the max burst for raw files is 28 over 5 seconds (I ran the test several times). With the Extreme IV I get 31.

Copying to my mac the extreme IV averages around 35MB a second. The Extreme pro about 30.

Clearly something is up!

When I rang Scandisk up, they could only tell me if the serial number was genuine and it was. but the card was fake, as I found other with the same card and same serial number

I have a response from Sandisk. Needless to say, I will be testing with my 5D2 ASAP.....

Thanks again for calling SanDisk Technical Support. It is our goal to make sure you have all the resources you need to get the most from your product.

Here is a relevant site with performance specifications of more cards in different devices: http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/conten ... 0043-10255
The 7D Canon camera is not one of them but as read on a different professional Photographer forum the 7D does not benefit from the UDMA6 specification of the card while the 5D Mk II does.
It is recommended to look for any firmware updates for the 7D camera as that might give you the performance boost you expect.

Please refer to your My SanDisk at http://kb.sandisk.com anytime to see all of your incident history and product registration information. You can log in using your email address as your login and the password that you created.

Also, you can visit http://kb.sandisk.com, our online keyword searchable Knowledgebase, to easily find answers to your Technical Support and Customer Service questions for all of SanDisk's products. Simply enter your search terms and our Knowledgebase will search an extensive database of commonly asked questions as well as our online forums at http://www.sandisk.com/sandisk-support/forums to provide you with the most complete answers possible.

Best regards,"
