OOOPS! erased in error the images on the memory card from my lap top. Immediately removed the card from the port and have not put it back into the COOLPIX 160. Is there any way I can retrieve? Please help - obviously, I am new to VISTA and the camera.

May I wish you a warm welcome to the CameraLabs forum. Bad luck about the card.

I'm assuming it's an SD card and that you erased rather than formatted it. If so then the Google search unerase "sd card" will give you some clues. I'm not familiar with any of the required software but I would caution you to make sure that whichever tool you choose is reputable - if your computer has good up to date virus protection you should be OK but it wouldn't hurt to perform another Google search using the name of the tool you choose just to make sure it hasn't been flagged as malicious before you download and run it. Did you check the Recycle bin on your laptop?

Take a look on the website of the card's brand. I know Sandisk has its own recovery software.
