I have recently purchased a Nikkor 18-55mm DX VR lens. This has a 52 mm filter thread, but neither of my 52 mm filters including a new Hoya circular polarising filter appear to fit. Nikon say that their filters fit OK.
Anybody got any views or explanations?

Welcome to the Camera Labs forum. Please familiarize yourself with our forum rules and structure, so I don't have to move too many threads around. Thanks!

The 18-55 indeed has a 52mm filter thread, so your 52mm filters should fit. Keep in mind that the front of the lens rotates though.

Also, welcome! :)

I have now tried my filters on an "identcial" lens and they fit. So it appears to be a manufacturing fault on my lens. The thread depth is insufficient. All that remains is to convince supplier/Nikon!
