How much of a quality difference is there between one at £6 and one at £15?

and one at £15 compared to one at £150?

What I should have asked is, what CPL filter would you have if you had the choice of any and what will do on a nikon 18-105 DX VR IF lens?

I don't want to pay £100+ for one only to find I have dark corners

I don't think you'll go too far wrong if you choose a B+W or Hoya. My guess is that a slimline model won't be needed with you 18-105mm lens on an APS-C body but that's only a guess based on my own experience with Canon. While I agree that it doesn't make much sense to pay £100 or more for a filter, such as a B+W Käsemann, in front of a £200 lens I think you will end up spending around £70. And if you have any other lenses with the same filter diameter then maybe a Käsemann, or equivalent, isn't such a bad idea. I own two, both of which do the job very nicely. Remember that lenses may come and go but a good filter is for life.

thanks Bob. I had looked at the Nikon CPL filter at £110 but wondered if it was only £110 because of the Nikon name and maybe not as good as for example a slightly cheaper B+W one, do you think?

EDIT.. forget that one, I've just read that Nikon filters are supposedly made by Hoya anyway and branded as Nikon
