So, who makes the best filters out of Hoya, Tiffen and Cokin? Or perhaps you guys know some other brands? Feel free to post about them here and share the experiences!

Without experience of all, I can only go by reputation and Hoya seems to be right up there on that note. But like many others, they do lesser and higher specification versions so for the best you still need to go high end within each brand.

I went to a local camera shop today and asked the guy working there the same question. He told me he thinks Tiffen performs slightly better than Hoya... Hmm, wonder if there are any sort of filter reviews out there that I can find...

I think it's all bs. In the same price range, you'll get the same sort of results. The best of Hoya, B +W and others will give the same result. my 2c.

Yeah, I kinda figured the same, but asked the question out of curiosity... I don't want to be putting a cheap piece of glass on a great lens... and I went to the B+W official website... There's this filter called 105E SOFT PRO and their price on it is $557.00 EA... Is this a joke or what?

And I haven't heard anything on Cokin from anyone here? I know they used to be pretty big with those square filters.

No one answered me, but uhm... if a filter is $557.00, then it's not my choice... lol. That's just insane. You can get a lens or two.. or even a camera for that price.
