is there any converter for the video output , in slr or in other products which has a video output pal/ntsc pal = resolution 720 x 486 ,
ntsc = resolution 648 x 486 , a converter to convert this resolution to a higher one when connecting it to a display or a tv , there is many high resolution in display such as XGA (1024×768) , SXGA (1280×1024) ,
QSXGA (2560×2048) ..... , WHUXGA (7680×4800) so how can i get the video signal from a video output pal/ntsc to a high resolution insted of having the pal/ntsc resolution , is there any kind of converter for such thing?

I'm sorry, but i've never come across an upscaler that converts simple PAL/NTSC into higher-resolution. Normally the scaling of such a signal is done inside the TV-set or e.g. inside the DVD-player. But stand-alone? No!
Best thing for presentation of your photos on a high-def TV/monitor is to load the pics on a laptop, or to buy one of the new camera-bodys with HDMI-output!

Hi M, there are some specialist video processing devices which can upscale PAL or NTSC to higher resolutions, but some can be expensive, so before going down that route, may we ask why you want to do this? There could be another solution to what you're trying to achieve...

As Thomas says though, upscaling is more a stretching exercise and won't create detail which was never there in the first place. So even if you did get an upscaler, the quality of the final picture taken from the TV output of a digital camera may not look great.

If you want better looking slideshows for example, it's best to play them from your computer rather than from a TV output.

i was wondering about the video output in the digital slr camera i know it gives pal/ntsc resolution thats why i asked for a converter that convert the video signal from pal/ntsc resolution to a high quality and from the converter to a tv or pc or even a recorder with a high quality recording

I still don't understand what you want to do!

You can record the video signal direct from the TV output of a DSLR into a VCR or DVD recorder or PC capture device if you like... but upscaling it isn't going to make it look much better...

Are you trying to get 'better quality' pictures by trying to
1. transmit pics from your camera via USB or IEEE1394 (assuming there's one) to a pc
2. Then 'enhancing it'
3. Then have it displayed on TV either via PC or DVD ?

If yes,
Then maybe its best you just play back direct from the camera to the TV.

Re-encoding it via pc will not increase its quality but increase the noise-level of the pics.
I have tried similar antics before using Apple imovie and encoding several pics into the movie for presentation.
That was a couple years back, but I still do not think it would make any differences, the mechanics is the same.
