My main high-quality printer is an HP Designjet 130. All my deep-sky astrophotography prints (for Exhibitions and for sale) are done on this.

6-colour printing up to 24" wide (as long as you like) and the HP inks certainly seem pretty fade resitant to me (I've had an A1 print exposed to a South facing window for 2 years now - no fading noticeable!).

Recently printed out a 15" x 100" landscape mosaic - first time I've gone above A1 size (in one dimension anyway) - faultless printing.

All in all I am extremely pleased with this printer - like any printer the only let-down is the cost of the replacement cartridges. Cost of the printer itself was about £900 - extremely good value for money in my opinion.

Hi Greg, what sort of resolution images do you need to feed the printer for good-looking results this big? I presume that's why in your other posts that you use mosaics!

For the deep-sky shots I can get away with 300 pixels per inch, and all looks fine. 300 pixels per inch also looks pretty good for terrestrial work, but as I sometimes print out images over 100 inches long [I am limited to 24 inches in width], I need to make a mosaic
