Basically i was working on 2 computers for a while, one in the office and one in my room.

Since I've finished school n all, I'm allowed my big ass haulin' pc back in my room =D

So, took the hard drive out the other pc, I was lazy, just put another hard drive in it rather than copy the data off LOL, put it in mine, and imorted everything into lightroom on this pc.

All the editing I had done had vanished...and it reverted back to the origional RAW file.

This normal or was there some other sort of method of importing w/e I was suppoed to use?

No big deal, just wondering for the future =)

In lightroom, the original image files aren't touched. Any edits you make are stored outside the image in a separate file. You should have (unless you deleted it) the old directory where lightroom stored all it's data. See if you can dig that out and you'll have to set it up again with your images in their old place.

Ah silly me!

I always thought any editing changes were stored within the raw files but still letting you got back to the untouched one, think of it now that wouldn't work.

I know Lightroom stores data in the Application Settings and Local Settings folders(both in Documents and Settings) and in My Pictures so have in look in those and see what you find. Whenever I reformat I make a backup of all the folders Lightroom uses so everything goes back the way it was.

I have a question on this topic...

Say I have an original folder with images and these have been edited in lightroom... then I want to move all my images and lightroom changes over to a new system, but put the original photo files in a different directory on the new system and import my lightroom catalog, Will it mess up or will the catologe still be able to tell which images the alterations applie to even though the directory path has changed?
