I was going to switch from aperture to lightroom until I spent some time with aperture. I went back to lightroom.

since my last post I have exported all my photo's out of aperture's and iphoto's library's structure and am now using lightroom to organise my photo's so they are all in a simple folder/photo structure on my hard drive as if no application as touched them. (but lightroom did it).

The reason I did this and prefer to do the is is that I will be locating some of the photo's (2007 and older) onto a different USB hard drive instead of in one single library so I will be able to point lightroom to that drive.

I also noticed when exporting some of my image from aperture that it has messed some of them up and so I have lost some of my images. This could of been either iphoto or aperture as I used both these applications for a while.

I use ACDSee. It's the only way to go.

And Toby, don't listen to these people criticizing your grandma. I've met her and she's great.
